The Virku (Virtual Fitness Centre) project developed a prototype game controlled by an exercise cycle that allows players to exercise in a virtual environment. Players peddle on the cycle while the game displays sounds, virtual scenery, and even feedback. The amount of effort needed to peddle fluctuates as the game environment changes, for example when going uphill versus downhill.
